The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will work within a fast-paced Labor and Delivery department that is responsible for caring for over 1500 births each year. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will be expected to work within a strong team of clinicians including many women’s health nurses, tech’s, unit nurse manager, and unit nurse director. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will be expected to provide and coordinate patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator should also have strong prior knowledge of education tools and analysis metrics.
The ideal candidate for this role will come from a strong Labor and Delivery nursing background with prior experience in Nurse Educator roles. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will be expected to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programming and prepare short- and long-term goals that address the identified department needs. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will serve as an education consultant to facility, task forces, committees, and projects relating to policy and procedure. The Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator will also assist the department leaders in coordinating education activities and then further assessing those programs.
