Critical Care Float Team

A large, quality focused hospital in the northern suburbs of Philedelphia is looking for experienced Critical Care Staff Nurses to join their dedicated and highly trained float pool team.

This teaching, not-for-profit hospital is well-regarded in the state and recognized nationally for clinical quality. Highlights of their services include a 24/7 Emergency Room (one of the busiest in the area), Orthopedic Service Line, Surgical Services, Cardiology and Pediatrics. 

The Critical Care Staff Nurse will work within the highly trained Critical Care Float Pool. This pool is the most experienced group of nurses in the hospital and will rotate as needed between all critical care units. The units include:

  • 20-bed Medical ICU
  • 22-bed Surgical ICU
  • Two 30+ bed Step Down Units

The Surgical ICU sees trauma patients, neurosurgical, abdominal, thoracic and orthopedic injuries. This hospital also has an open-heart program, so the SICU will see cardiac patients who have had heart surgery. The Medical ICU sees mostly patients from the ER. Nurses with expertise with arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and continuous venous-veno dialysis. Telemetry and step down experience will also be considered. 

The ICU Nurse Float Pool will treat patients that are critically ill following surgeries, traumas or who have co-morbidities. The ICU Nurse Float Pool will share critical information with family members and patient decision makers, as well as educate loved ones on patient status and needs. There are day and night shifts available and nurses can choose between 8 or 12-hour shifts.

This position comes with an additional shift differential on top of a high hourly rate.
